Since the beginning, The Catalano bench has been left unchanged. It has a lasting quality and an uninterrupted beauty.
Antoni Gaudí developed a profile for his Güell Park benches in Barcelona. Lluís Clotet and Oscar Tusquets found that the benches’ ergonomics were unimprovable, so they adapted the design into the Catalano.
It has been in our catalogue since 1973, and remains one of our most popular pieces. Its one-metre length is light with a netted body that is almost translucent. This prevents rainwater collecting and keeps the structure cool in summer. It blends into its surroundings, can be assembled back-to-back, and has different leg options depending on its desired placement. While paying homage to Gaudí, the Catalano bench is effortlessly functional and beautifully dynamic.
