Prize for the best text on design Bd Barcelona and IXC Barcelona, two Spanish brands which carry the name of Barcelona around the world as one of their distinguishing marks, have promoted and organised the first award of the Saint George Prize for the best Pen on design, an initiative intended to distinguish and reward the written dissemination of design and culture. There is one prize in recognition of the best article or set of articles published in Spanish newspapers and magazines during 2008 (not including digital media) and another for the best book published in the same period of time. In the field of product design, in which Bd and IXC are active, the jury, composed of Lluís Bassat, Rosa Regás, Elisa Sáinz, Oscar Tusquets and Jordi William Carnes, representing Barcelona City Hall, has awarded the prize to Ana Domínguez Siemens for her article Ettore el humanista, published in Diseño Interior, and to Xènia Viladàs for her book Diseño Rentable, published by Index Book. The trophy, of important symbolic meaning, is an exclusive pen designed by Oscar Tusquets Blanca in a limited edition.
