It was a very symmetric time of my life; I painted with Chinese ink interpreted by means of symmetry. In case of the lamp Ote, a piece was cut and folded in a symmetric way, a piece which illuminates by reflects, substituting the opaque lamp shade, but maintaining the icon of the lamp. My cuttings were part of a whole, which get again into the principal form when opening the paper, little shapes which recover the light when unwrapping. Nearly like a sculpture of Oteiza, that’s precisely where the name comes from. I showed the first lay out to Pati Nuñez, and here the idea of painting the interior of the sheets in different colours, his view of a graphic designer was determinant.
