BD has been very close to the Contract world for nearly 50 years, given its
connection from its roots with architecture. Designs have been developed and
tailor-made in Barcelona with the needs of top architects and interior designers
in mind for installing offices, hotels, restaurants and public space projects, indoor
Ian Schrager started to revolutionise the world of hotels towards the end of the last century by the hand of Philippe Starck. BD, from its beginnings has participated and contributed on significant projects such as the Hudson in New York, Clift in San Francisco, Delano in Miami and St Martins Lane in London. There, with others, are the designs by Salvador Dalí which we produce exclusively in the entire world. A little while ago, the famous American promotor landed in the Catalan capital, to open The Barcelona Edition close to the Santa Caterina Market. On this occasion, the project was designed by local creators within an edition constructed by Carlos Ferrater and Interior Designer, Lazaro Rosa-Violán, with whom we usually collaborate.
One of the settings ideal for Dalí’s designs, continues to take the limelight in the hall along with modernist furniture by Antoni Gaudí, waiting to welcome guests on their arrival at reception. For the rooms, they have opted for another classic, although more contemporary, the Gaulino chair designed by Oscar Tusquets.
We have always had an interest in the equipment of public spaces since BD’s owners had this need in their architectural projects. We have developed several public benches to furnish train and metro stations, parks and stadiums like the recently furnished Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Over the years we have furnished many restaurants around the world. Spaces that need a combination of contemporary and unique design, providing comfortability for that special moment.
BD’s solutions for office spaces include corporate boardroom tables with cable
management by Konstantin Grcic, and a large variety of chairs and lounge armchairs that meet the needs of current post covid projects.
